Legitly reads a photograph for the things a photograph can carry: label layout, print quality, stitch lines, code format and proportions. It returns a verdict with a confidence figure and a list of what it found, in seconds.
What it does
Snap up to ten photos of the item. The app identifies the product, runs the checks that apply to that category, and returns one of four outcomes: authentic, caution, red flag, or a request for more photographs when the shots it has are not enough to judge. Each result carries a calibrated confidence score, the individual findings behind it, and the specific extra shots that would sharpen the answer. Results are saved so you can reopen them later. The app speaks 47 languages and follows your device.

What it cannot do
Pre-screen from a photo. Not a certificate, not a physical inspection. It cannot weigh an item, close callipers on a sole, open a case back or feel a stitch. Those are the checks that actually separate a good counterfeit from a genuine article, which is why every guide on this site is built around a number you can measure yourself. No photo service binds a seller or a marketplace, so a pass here is a reason to keep going, not a certificate.
Who it is not for
If the item is worth more than a few thousand dollars, skip the photo and pay a physical authenticator. If you need a document a marketplace or an insurer will accept, this is the wrong tool, because no photo service issues one. If you already hold the item and have a ruler and a kitchen scale, the free guide for that product is stricter than the app: it gives you the tolerance, the instrument and a confidence level for every figure. And if the item is not in one of the categories below, the answer will be vaguer than you want.
